Hezbollah says the Lebanese resistance fighters have repelled an infiltration attempt by ‘Israeli’ forces in several southern border areas.
Hezbollah said Wednesday, the 2nd of October, that its fighters engaged in ground clashes with the ‘Israeli’ regime’s infantry and forced them to retreat from the Lebanese town of Odaisseh.
The fighters then were battling ‘Israeli’ soldiers who Hezbollah said infiltrated the village of Maroun al-Ras in the south of Lebanon.
The Lebanese army also confirmed that ‘Israeli’ forces had briefly breached the Blue Line by approximately 400 meters (yards) into Lebanese territory in two areas, then withdrew a short time later.
At the same time, Hezbollah said it conducted a series of attacks on ‘Israeli’ soldiers stationed along the boundary with Lebanon, targeting three different military positions with rockets and artillery fire, achieving “direct hits.”
Separately, Hezbollah said it attacked an infantry force in the settlement of Misgav Am with rockets and artillery.
The resistance media Chief Mohammad Afif said on Wednesday that Hezbollah has enough fighters, weapons and ammunition to push back the ‘Israeli’ regime’s forces from the country.
‘Israel’ claimed on Tuesday, the 1st of October, that it had begun “limited, localized, and targeted ground raids” in southern Lebanon.
On Wednesday, the ‘Isareli’ regime’s media admitted that the military is engaged in a “very unusual and extremely difficult event,” involving the evacuation of casualties from the border area using at least four helicopters.
The military also acknowledged that its troops fell into an ambush set by Hezbollah. It said the Lebanese group is attempting to target concentrations of the ‘Israeli’ military.
