The National Institute of Social Services (Inass) opened a registry of senior citizens who wish to access their ambulatory day care services in Caracas, which includes medicine, nutrition and gerontology; likewise, it will provide support for the coverage of surgical interventions, technical aids and economic assistance. All this coupled with recreational, sports and cultural activities, for which there will be facilities for transfer to the sites where programs are developed aimed at promoting active aging and social integration.
The services are not only those offered in the different social care centers that work in La Vega, El Cementerio, San Martín, Coche, Catia and other sectors of Caracas, the Inass maintains in Caricuao a service to reduce amputations in diabetic patients, elimination of bacteria or parasites, cerebral oxygenation for the recovery of cognitive abilities in patients with Alzheimer’s and cancer, with a treatment in hyperbaric chamber, for free in the Residential Social Service Dr. Joaquín Quintero Quintero. There, while the patient watches television and listens to anti-stress music in an airtight chamber, they receive through the nasal passages 100% pure oxygen at high pressures, which through a physical and chemical process becomes liquid transported through the bloodstream.
To join the registry of the Inass, you must only present the original identity card (cedula) and a copy, a medical report and proof of residence in the offices of the Integrated System of Social Care for Adults and Seniors (Siasam), which can also be located in the Inass website. If you do not have a medical report, a specialized team of the institute will do the respective exams to verify your health condition. The hours of service are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
As of your registration, you will be given a file in which you will enter the system, through which you will access the services of the institution free of charge.
