“Whoever reaches the White House, whether it is Trump or Kamala, will have a revolutionary government in Venezuela, a Bolivarian Government, a Bolivarian people with whom they will have to dialogue, come to an understanding in a good way, always in a good way,” said President Nicolás Maduro in relation to the presidential elections in the United States. “We will be here no matter who wins up there. We do not get involved in the internal affairs of the United States, we simply observe and maintain our path.”
He noted that Venezuela does not become involved in the internal affairs of the United States: “Our path is to build the Venezuela that we need. We will never depend on the north nor will we be a colony of anyone.”
“Whoever wins, what is best for Venezuela and Latin America is to have our own path, not depend on anyone, guarantee our countries,” said President Maduro. The comments were made during a broadcast of the Con Maduro+ program.
“No one from the north is going to come to build the Venezuela we need, because some from the extreme right, or from Miami, say we want so-and-so to win, we want so-and-so to win, and they try to say no, because if so-and-so wins, they will invade us, if so-and-so wins, they will invade us: that is the analysis that they make,” said President Maduro. “Unbridled, deranged, schizophrenic, crazy, sell-outs from Miami, from abroad, and they do a lot of it from here.”
On the other hand, he commented that he would tell Trump not to let himself be led into failure again with the Guaidó model. “They deceived him, they told him it was a piece of cake, and it was those with the last names [the wealthy elite of Venezuela], the same clan, Borges, López, and the deranged Machado. They did the same with Biden. Now, yes, now, we have the old man who is happy, and they were the same ones who deceived Trump, but now, including Capriles.”
“Whether one or the other wins, we hope that they do not allow the failed policies of the failed oligarchy to be imposed,” reiterated the president.
He commented that some believe that by turning Venezuela into a colony, the country will prosper. “And Puerto Rico?” he asked. “Tell me a single country that has been intervened in by the United States and that is better: Afghanistan, Libya… none. Simply put, the destiny of our peoples of the Global South, the destiny of Bolivarian Venezuela, depends on our minds and our hands.”
In his opinion, the people of the United States want real change. They have felt frustrated in recent elections: “The United States is in a state of uncertainty. I think that at this moment, American society no longer believes in anyone, and that is dangerous, very dangerous, because uncertainty leads to frustration, and frustration in societies like these leads to adventures that could lead to fascist experiments, wars, etc.”
