Vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, expressed his belief that the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution on July 28 prevented the growth of fascism.
“Today we can say that Venezuela, on July 28, with the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution, stopped fascism in its tracks, here in Venezuela and in America. It paralyzed it because they were coming for Venezuela,” he declared.
Cabello also stated that it has not been easy and recalled that Venezuela has the support of the free peoples of the world and friendly governments.
Facing the threat of fascism, Diosdado Cabello stressed the need for unity to confront it, as well as neofascism and similar expressions.
“It is not just Venezuela,” he said. “It is not just Cuba. Going for Venezuela is going for all of America, for the free peoples, who have not surrendered to imperialism.”
He asserted that the fascists are united and articulate strategies, and when they target a people they unleash all their force against that people.
However, he affirmed that fascism will not be able to defeat free peoples such as those in Venezuela. Fascism, he added, will be fought and defeated in Venezuela.
“We have faith, we hope, that this is how it will be all over the world. Fascism will not be able to defeat the peoples who want to be free,” Cabello said.
President Nicolás Maduro suggested the creation of this global anti-fascist front. On November 4 and 5, the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum is held in Caracas, with over 300 legislators from 70 countries who will debate blockades, fascism, and the defense of human rights.
