A total of 208 Venezuelans arrived in the country from the United States as part of the Venezuelan government’s Return to the Homeland repatriation program. This was reported Venezuelan Transportation Minister RamĂłn Velásquez Araguayán.
Upon receiving the migrants at the SimĂłn BolĂvar International Airport of MaiquetĂa on Friday, April 4, Minister Araguayán reported that the flight brought 176 men, 30 women, and two children. They will receive a comprehensive medical checkup and go through thorough background checks to determine if any of them have any open cases with the judiciary.
He added that these returnees will be provided with all the necessary assistance to reintegrate into their societies and productive activities in Venezuela.
“This is the second flight we receive from a US airline,” the minister stated. “Yesterday, we received two flights from our airline Conviasa. We received information that some people with criminal records are arriving on this flight. However, when they arrive, this will be verified, and the issues will be addressed accordingly.”
