At Miraflores Palace in Caracas, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received several mayors of Barinas state who are active on the side of the Venezuelan opposition.
According to Presidential Press office, the dialogue took place this Sunday, June 16, in Office #1, and the mayor of the Ezequiel Zamora municipality, Nelson García Mora, a member of the Compromiso País party (COMPA), participated.
Likewise, the mayors of the Pedraza municipality, José Adrián Azuaje, and of Obispos municipality, Frenchy Díaz Rodríguez, participated, both belonging to the ranks of the far-right Unity Platform (PUD).
On behalf of the Venezuelan government, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, the minister for transportation, Ramón Velásquez,and First Lady Cilia Flores, also participated.

During the exchange of ideas with the head of state, the mayors expressed their position regarding the call for national peace.
At the end of the meeting, Mayor Frenchy Díaz described the approach as a fruitful that served to expose “each of the needs we have in the municipalities.” He pointed out that the government authorities “committed to the completion of infrastructure works” in his municipality.
For his part, Nelson García, from the Ezequiel Zamora municipality, expressed his satisfaction “on behalf of the people of Zamora, for how the president received us” to whom “we have delivered the projects and he has committed to supporting us.”
Representing the Obispos municipality, José Adrián Azuaje declared himself an “independent mayor,” arguing that “he owes it to a people,” whom he called to “guarantee the peace of Venezuela … and to support President Nicolás Maduro Moros.”
