This Thursday, Venezuelan President Maduro shared details about the meetings between Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and “high-level Chinese government officials” in Beijing.
President Maduro stated that Rodríguez’s visit has allowed for “the fine-tuning of agreements in all areas,” highlighting significant achievements in areas such as the economy, trade, and energy cooperation. “There is impressive news about the achievements this visit is already accomplishing in terms of cooperation and trade agreements,” he reported.
He also mentioned that the progress is not limited to the economy but also encompasses sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and artificial intelligence. “We are making progress on many issues,” he emphasized, indicating that these meetings are crucial to deepening and accelerating the plans established during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in September 2023.
During his remarks, Maduro highlighted the importance of the Venezuela-China relationship, noting that “a strategic partnership of this nature exists with only four countries in the world.” Venezuela has become the fifth country, the only one in Latin America and the Caribbean, with an “all-weather strategic partnership.”
President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening ties between Venezuela and China in a context where international cooperation plays a key role in development and cooperation between the two nations.
Rodriguez agenda
On Thursday night, Delcy Rodríguez reported that her agenda focused on monitoring the agreements signed in 2024 by the High-Level Joint Commission, covering crucial areas such as finance and energy, as well as exploring new opportunities for cooperation in science, technology, agriculture, and trade.
Vice President Rodríguez held a productive meeting with Zheng Shanjie, the chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission. They evaluated the fulfillment of previous commitments and outlined new lines of action to deepen bilateral collaboration in the financial and energy sectors, fundamental pillars of the comprehensive strategic relationship.
Rodríguez also met with the vice president of the People’s Republic of China, Han Zheng, at the Grand Palace of the People. She reported on social media that she sent President Maduro’s greeting to President Xi Jinping and the entire Chinese people while discussing the importance of strengthening cooperation ties between the two countries, looking toward a world free of hegemonic tendencies.
This Friday, Rodríguez, who is also Venezuela’s Oil Minister, held another meeting in Beijing with Dai Houliang, the president of one of the world’s most important oil companies, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). They reviewed strategic partnerships in energy, oil projects, and investment.
CNPC ranks third in the list of the world’s 50 largest oil companies and fifth in the Fortune Global 500 Magazine. During the talks, the officials celebrated the trade volume that Venezuela has registered, with significant increases, especially in the energy industry, despite the criminal blockade imposed against Venezuela by the United States regime.

Trade
Venezuela’s Foreign Trade Minister Coromoto Godoy held a significant meeting with China’s Vice Minister of Commerce Lin Chenggang. During this meeting, both officials highlighted the strength of the strategic relationship between China and Venezuela.
In addition, Minister Godoy met with Wang Linghun, the vice minister of Customs of China. During this meeting, the Venezuelan representative expressed Venezuela’s strong interest in expanding its trade alliance with China, prioritizing the increase in non-oil exports. This initiative seeks to diversify Venezuela’s export offering and strengthen the trade balance between the two nations, opening new opportunities for Venezuelan producers and entrepreneurs in the Chinese market.
