The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Sunday that Venezuela is under criminal persecution by the North American empire, which is pursuing the purchase of medicines that the country needs to fight Covid-19.
He stressed that Venezuela has all the necessary treatments, despite the persecution of the US government that prevents the purchase of the drugs that Venezuela needs.
He reiterated that Venezuela has many friends that allow the acquisition, often in secret, of medicines to combat covid-19. Among them he mentioned China, Russia, Cuba, Turkey, India, South Africa, Vietnam, as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). “Fortunately, we never lack help and friends,” said the President.
In this sense, he asked the Presidential Commission for the Prevention and Control of covid-19 to guarantee the stock of drugs for the treatment of covid-19, including antivirals, anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, among others.
The Head of State reiterated the call to the population to make correct use of the mask. “I insist everyone, we must take extreme security measures – and prevention – do not neglect ourselves.”
