United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Deputy Tania Díaz condemned Venezuelan far-right opposition politician María Corina Machado’s celebration of United States President Donald Trump’s measure to revoke Chevron’s license for oil operations in Venezuela.
“She is happy because she is sure that this measure will be like taking away oxygen from the Venezuelan government,” said Díaz this Friday, February 28, during the program Sin Truco Ni Maña, broadcast on Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV).
Díaz said, “After what Venezuelans have experienced, we know what a statement of this kind from the United States means. That is why we are not only rejecting it but will continue to stand and fight.”
“The Venezuelan people are active. We defeated all those agendas of violence. We won this battle, and we won it with love, work, dignity, and strength,” she added.
The deputy also said that Venezuela is taking steps forward, and that is what they [the United States] are trying to prevent. “That we continue to move forward so that Venezuela becomes the power that it should be because we deserve it.”
Last Wednesday, Machado welcomed the announcement by the US administration aiming to sabotage Venezuela’s oil production. The move promoted by Corina Machado threatens the well-being of the population and the growth of the Venezuelan economy.
Despite the consequences that the measure could have for the Venezuelan population, Machado celebrated the US president’s decision with laughter during her participation as a guest on the Triggered podcast hosted by Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. She added that she agrees with said measure. “It gives me opportunities,” she said.
“It is a great step… This decision shows that President Trump is not only on the side of Venezuelans but also of democracy and prosperity for both countries,” Machado added.
In new evidence of her pro-Zionist nature, Machado told Donald Trump Jr. that Nicolás Maduro’s government “has given over 10,000 Venezuelan passports to Iranian and Syrian agents. Many of them have ended up in the hands of Islamic terrorists,” spreading an unverified smear campaign aiming to discredit the Bolivarian Revolution.
Despite the clear evidence of the strong campaign by the Venezuelan government to disband criminal organizations like the Aragua Train, which had been used as a tool to demonize Venezuelan migrants, Machado said that “when we are in government, every individual who has committed a crime will face justice. We must dismantle the Aragua Train in a coordinated manner.”
She added that this criminal organization managed to spread throughout Latin America and the United States because Nicolás Maduro’s government facilitated its members’ exit from the country despite their criminal records. Yet, she did not note that many of the Aragua Train criminals exited Venezuela via Colombia, which protected them during Ivan Duque’s government.

“They disguise themselves as democrats and are secretly plotting”
Tania Díaz emphasized that there are figures from the Venezuelan far-right who disguise themselves as democrats only to harm the people.
“Those who say one thing and do another, those who do not show their face, there are disguises of disguises. Some disguise themselves as democrats, but under the table, they are conspiring and damaging the entire democratic agenda of the country,” said Díaz regarding that sector of the right that is once again calling for electoral abstention.
