The vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported that the PSUV has delivered all the documents asked for by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) regarding the July 28 presidential elections.
“The United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the comrades of the different parties of the Great Patriotic Pole, the alliance that nominated President Nicolás Maduro, attended the TSJ summons in recognition of its authority, of the authority of the Electoral Chamber in everything concerning the electoral issue,” Cabello declared to the press after exiting the TSJ premises on Friday, August 9.
“We have submitted all the documents requested by the highest court through the Electoral Chamber: lists of witnesses, everything they asked for, which is basically the information that should be submitted by all the parties that participated in the election,” Cabello said.
He added that the extreme right had already admitted that it would not recognize the results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Cabello asks for noninterference in Venezuela’s internal affairs
“As for the point of view of some governments, such as those of [Gabriel] Boric or [Javier] Milei, they do not conduct elections in Venezuela. Here, elections are conducted by the National Electoral Council,” Cabello pointed out.
Cabello added that the Venezuelan government has been asking these heads of state for respect, “these gentlemen, who evidently are spokespersons for imperialism,… they are trying to meddle in the internal affairs of their neighbors, and we ask for respect.”

He stressed that these leaders do not have the moral authority to give their opinion on the internal affairs of Venezuela or the electoral results.
“Do not interfere in our internal affairs. Venezuela wants peace, to live in peace and tranquility, and that was decided by Venezuelans,” he said.
Cabello also referred to statements made by the president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, calling Mulino a spokesperson of imperialism. He said that General Laura Richardson, head of the US Southern Command, “went there and gave him the order, just as she gave him the order to convene a summit of presidents.”
“It is an attack against our country. This country has resisted and will continue to resist,” Cabello continued. “The institutions here come out strengthened. Coming to the Supreme Court of Justice, one who does not have anything to hide does not fear it.” He added that those with “no documents in hand” have not attended the court’s summons.
On Friday, around midday, representatives of the political parties constituting the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole appeared before the Supreme Court: Diosdado Cabello for the PSUV, Hipólito Abreu for Tupamaro, Ilenia Medina for PP, Vanessa Montero for Movimiento Somos Venezuela, Eucaris Centeno for Organización Renovadora Auténtica, Didalco Bolívar for Democracia Social, Nazarela Rojas for Partido Verde, José Andrés Tovar for Enamórate Venezuela, Casto Gil for Movimiento Electoral del Pueblo, Eileen González for Partido Futuro Venezuela, Sixto Rodríguez for Partido Comunista de Venezuela, Henry Hernández for Unidad Popular Venezolana, and Ricardo Sánchez for Alianza por el Cambio.
