The United States government will allocate an additional $ 10 million to allegedly address the situation in Venezuela. This was announced by the Acting Undersecretary of the Office of Population, Refugees and Migration of the US State Department, Carol Thompson O’Connell.

O’Connell made the announcement after the solidarity conference with Venezuelan migrants who organized this Monday and Tuesday in the Belgian capital of the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration, and UNHCR.
“We are very proud to announce more than 10 million dollars for economic assistance and additional development from the US government to face the crisis in Venezuela,” said the official during a meeting with the press in Brussels.
The new amount, which adds to the almost $ 119 million of “humanitarian aid” announced last September by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, will be used to treat HIV treatments, vaccinations and support to combat human trafficking.
