On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump signed a new executive order ordering the “repelling, repatriating, and expelling” of illegal immigrants who are involved in “an invasion” of the United States.
In a statement issued from the White House, the Trump Administration reported that the Republican signed a new executive order on immigration allegedly “guaranteeing the protection of the states against invasion.”
“The executive order suspends the physical entry of foreigners who participate in an invasion of the United States through the southern border,” reads the message issued by the government. “[It is an] instruction to immediately repel, repatriate, and expel illegal aliens.”
The measure, under the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Constitution of the United States, orders the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of State to take the necessary measures to prevent the crossing of migrants.
‘Maximum Pressure’ on Venezuela Contradicts Trump’s Migration Agenda
Just hours after assuming the US presidency, Trump declared a national emergency on the border that the country shares with Mexico.
According to an official of the incoming Trump administration quoted by Reuters, the national emergency would allow the Republican to continue with the construction of a border wall and to send troops to the area.
