Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—The Venezuelan government condemned the new attack perpetrated by the Israeli Army against the towns of Masyaf and Wadi Al Oyoun on the outskirts of Hama, in the Syrian Arab Republic, on September 9. This attack occurred amid the Zionist onslaught against its neighbors and the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Sixteen people died in the attack, and another 43 were injured with various levels of severity. The attack also left severe material damage to several structures.
In a statement released this Monday, September 9, by Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yván Gil on his Telegram account, the Venezuelan government deplores “this new Zionist aggression.” Venezuela described the attack as the true “wild, immoral, and inhuman face of the Tel Aviv regime against the Syrian nation,” once again condemning the violation of Syria’s sovereignty.
Below is the unofficial translation of the statement:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly condemns the attack perpetrated by the Israeli Army against the town of Masyaf and Wadi Al Oyoun on the outskirts of Hama, in the Syrian Arab Republic, on September 9, 2024, which killed 16 people, caused 43 injuries of different severities and caused severe material damage to structures.
This new Zionist aggression confirms the savage, immoral, and inhuman face of the Tel Aviv regime against the Syrian nation and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country, as well as the deliberate intention to continue with the expansionist policy of war in the region and the pursuit of horrific crimes against peoples who have decided to be free.
Venezuela reiterates its strongest condemnation of the deplorable acts of the Zionist entity that have caused the death of thousands of martyrs, caused many injuries and the destruction of entire communities, generating, in addition, a dangerous and growing escalation of political and military tension in the Middle East as part of the repeated and flagrant Israeli violations of Syrian territory and other states.
The Bolivarian government urges the international community to take decisive action to definitively stop the repeated attacks and violations of International Law by the Zionist entity and its collaborators against the peoples of Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.
We express our most heartfelt words of encouragement, peace, and consolation to the families and friends of the victims for such irreparable losses. At the same time, we hope for the prompt recovery of the injured and for justice and absolute peace to prevail throughout the region.

Israel’s War on Gaza Is Only Possible Due to US Support and Weapons
“At around 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the direction of northwestern Lebanon, targeting a number of military sites in the central region [of Syria],” a military source told the Syrian News Agency SANA.
“Our air defense systems confronted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them,” the source added without providing further details.
Syria’s air defenses intercepted several Israeli missiles as the regime’s new airstrikes on Hama province killed several people and injured nearly 20 others. Israel frequently targets military bases inside Syria, especially those of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, which has played a key role in helping the Syrian army in its fight against foreign-backed terrorists, as reported by PressTV.
