The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, pointed to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Chilean President Gabriel Boric as the “two spokesmen” of the Latin American left co-opted by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office said that it has been “proven” that the Chilean president is a “CIA agent” and that “he is being followed now,” according to Saab, by the Brazilian president who was also co-opted.
The prosecutor also said that the Brazilian president “is not the same. I met him in the Orinoco oil belt when I was governor of Anzoátegui, with Chávez. He is not the same compared to the one who founded and organized the labor movements of Brazil,” said Saab during an interview at Globovisión this Sunday, October 13.
Saab condemned both leaders’ statements about the situation in Venezuela after the July 28 presidential elections. The results were announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE), with President Nicolás Maduro being reelected. Presidents Boric and Lula both insist, in an interventionist manner, on not recognizing the Supreme Court ruling confirming the electoral results of the presidential race.
“Who are you, Boric, who are you, Lula… to interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela and now abrogate for yourselves the role of the CNE?” the prosecutor said.
