The secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, said that while the United States intensifies its measures to persecute and deport migrants to the point of revoking humanitarian parole, “we continue to welcome them with open arms” through the Return to the Homeland Program.
During PSUV’s weekly press conference on Monday, June 16, Cabello stated that “protests continue in the United States over deportations, and today, the US government made an announcement to intensify deportations.”
The Chavista leader emphasized that through the Return to the Homeland Program, “we continue to receive Venezuelans from the United States and Mexico. Tomorrow, a flight arrives from the United States, and this week, we hope to bring a flight from Mexico.”
He added that “the issue of the US and how they treat migrants is a delicate one. It is enough for the entire world to take a stand because they have started firing people who were working; persecution and terror have intensified. Many of these actions are carried out by mercenaries, who could not care less.”
Cabello stated that this US policy against migrants “has become a business. The US announced early that it was going to increase its efforts to continue deporting, and all of this is part of the arrogance of imperialism.”
On May 8, the Donald Trump administration asked the US Supreme Court for authorization to repeal the legal status granted to hundreds of migrants during the Joe Biden administration.
Then, on May 30, US federal judge Indira Talwani, in Boston, ordered the Trump administration to immediately resume processing humanitarian parole, a program that facilitated legal entry into the United States for over 434,000 migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Haiti.
Several protests took place over the weekend in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles against Donald Trump’s immigration policies and in defense of migrants.
The European Union is a colony of the United States
When asked about Venezuela’s inclusion on the European Union’s (EU) list of “high-risk” countries, Diosdado Cabello said that this economic and political association of 27 European countries is a colony of the United States. They want to send the message that they are in control, but in reality, they are controlled by the Trump administration.
He added that “the EU makes a list because the US has one. Thank God we don’t depend on the EU, and they are not going to tell us what we can or cannot do. We do not depend on what they say.”

Diosdado Cabello added that the EU deserves to be where they are: underground. He stated that it is “a stupid organization.”
It is important to highlight that, through a statement, the Venezuelan government categorically rejected Venezuela’s inclusion on the list of “high-risk” countries drawn up by the EU last week.
The official statement released on June 10 stated that “what does represent a real risk is the inability of the European Union to protect its interests, its economy, and even its dignity,” since it is part of “an anachronistic, aging bureaucracy, disconnected from its people, that now attempts to tutor Venezuela when it cannot even coherently govern its own space, filled with banks laundering money in their own capitals, officials who look the other way, and tax havens that operate with total impunity within its borders or under its protection.”
