This Monday, December 28, President Nicolás Maduro announced the possibility of starting the new year with a radical quarantine in order to avoid a resurgence of coronavirus cases in the Venezuela.
Maduro made these statements during the end-of-year ceremony for the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), which took place in Fuerte Tiuna, Caracas.

The president stressed that the proposal was made by members of the presidential commission formed to battle the coronavirus, and that the quarantine could be extended for 14 days.
“We are evaluating new phases for quarantine and relaxation for 2021. In the coming days we will make the relevant announcements. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and enjoy yourself with your family,” said the Venezuelan Head of State.
