The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called for a structural transformation of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), emphasizing the need for a “new moment of transformation” in the military revolution initiated by Commander Hugo Chávez.
“We have to provoke, within the military revolution, a new moment of transformation, structural transformation of the doctrine and the form of organization, preparation and deployment of our FANB,” said President Maduro during the promotion of 450 members of the Presidential Honor Guard (GHP) and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) on Thursday, July 3.
He stressed that “everything must change for the better, for the new circumstances.” He further pointed out that the guiding plan 2025-2031 of the FANB is completely aligned with the Plan of the Seven Transformations (7T), which is now a Law of the Republic.

Professionalism and commitment
President Maduro also instructed Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino López and other high-ranking officers of the FANB to study in depth “the professionalism, commitment, sacrifice and morale” that led to the recent promotions, with the aim of improving their administration.
He stated that the cohesion of the FANB has been the key for the country to remain in peace, in the path of development, and with the capacity to resist the aggressions of “imperialism and oligarchies. The absolute unity and cohesion of the FANB are the backbone of Venezuela’s success.”
“Thanks to this cohesion, union and combat capacity of the Venezuelan military, we have been able to successfully combat against violent criminal gangs, drug traffickers and counterrevolutionary mercenaries that always come from abroad,” he added.
“As a worker president, as the man of the people that I am and will always be, and as commander-in-chief of the FANB, I feel immensely proud of the quality of the professionals that make up our military forces,” he concluded.
