Venezuelan Government Reached a Milestone of 2,500,000 Homes Built

December 27, 2018

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Great Housing Mission Venezuela (GMVV), reaches the Historical Milestone of 2,500,000 homes built for Venezuelan families, with the challenge of building 3 million homes by the end of 2019. The milestone was reached in the Fabricio Ojeda urbanization, in the municipality of Lagunillas, Zulia state. The house was awarded by the governor of that state, Omar Prieto.

This housing complex comprises 160 apartments with a total of 3 thousand 488 dignified homes delivered, said Prieto during a TV coverage with President Nicolás Maduro, in joint radio and television broadcast.

Among other figures, Prieto reported that in Zulia state 270 thousand homes have been delivered since the creation of this program in 2011. He assured that today the commitment is consolidated with the Bolivarian Revolution and that “despite the economic war and the electrical attacks, we remain loyal to the legacy of Bolivar and Chávez to continue working for the future of our people.”

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that the goal of the Bolivarian Revolution for the 2019-2025 period is to build five million worthy homes for the people, “so that all Venezuelans families, have necessary and proper houses.”

“All Venezuelans are going to have a decent, beautiful, and proper homes. We will achieve it with the Plan of the Homeland 2019-2025. I am finishing the first constitutional term left to me by Commander Chávez,” he said during the act of unveiling the landmark 2,500,000 homes.

The Head of State explained that during 2018 the Revolution planned to build 500,000 homes and the goal was exceeded with 67,218 new homes above, “to total two million 500 thousand 87 homes.” In addition, 93,898 titles of urban land were delivered, totaling at the end of this year one million 41,832 documents “to make people the owners of the land…this is called democratizing the land.”

He also reported that resources are approved for the construction of 500 thousand new homes during the year 2019. “Approved resources, logistics, for 500 thousand new homes. The Revolution continues and I say from here, in the year 2019 a new stage of our Homeland begins. The people and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces are prepared for that stage,” he said from Fuerte Tiuna, in Caracas.

On the other hand, he reported that efforts have been resumed so that José Gregorio Hernández is beatified by the Vatican. In this regard, he indicated that the venerable is already the saint of the Venezuelans, “he just lacks his title,” he said.

The GMVV, was launched on April 30, 2011 as a challenge to solve the housing drama in the country, and is positioned as the most successful housing construction project in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the world. This socialist mission is based on a scientific study that determined the demand for housing in the country, this system was called the National Housing Registry, carried out in all Bolívar squares nationwide, recorded a balance of 2,753,159 heads of families who manifested the need for a home.

Similarly, this system reflected that 643,596 heads of households requested the repair of the houses in which they live, another 311,631 chiefs and heads of families required the extension of their homes and 33,840 regulating the ownership of their home. It should be noted that as part of the attention to families in housing, today there are more than 1,020,812 homes that have been intervened and updated with the Great Mission Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor and 1,045,245 Urban Land Committee and families have received their property documents that guarantee the legal ownership of the land.

“The Chávez government is going to achieve that in the next six years there will not be a single family without dignified housing in Venezuela,” said Commander Hugo Chávez; leader of the Bolivarian Revolution and creator of the GMVV, during his speech on Bolivar Avenue in Caracas on October 4, 2012.

The Great Housing Mission Venezuela has faced the economic war and financial blockade demonstrating that with less we can do more to fulfill the revolutionary commitment to guarantee all families a decent roof, as has been done by President Obrero Nicolás Maduro in the execution of the programmatic goals and achieve a short-term total of 5,000,000 new homes for the Venezuelan people through the Carnet de la Patria system.

“The goal is a challenge and we will achieve it with socialism and more socialism,” said Hugo Chávez.
