The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) announced the suspension of the new far-right government that will take office in the Plurinational State of Bolivia due to its anti-Bolivarian conduct.
The Alliance announced this in a statement issued on Friday, October 24, highlighting that the new government of Bolivia is anti-Bolivarian, anti-Latin American, pro-imperialist, and colonialist, and is not in accordance with the principles of ALBA.
Likewise, it underscored that the suspension “does not affect the permanent, affective, and solidarity ties we maintain with the Bolivian people, with whom we will continue to work and support in their development and well-being.”
Unofficial translation of the statement is provided below:
The governments that constitute the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) have decided to suspend the far-right government that will take office in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, because its anti-Bolivarian, anti-Latin American, pro-imperialist, and colonialist conduct is not in line with the principles of this Alliance. This suspension does not affect the permanent, affective, and solidarity ties that we have with the Bolivian people, with whom we will continue to work and support in their development and well-being.
We insist that the public statements issued against Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua by the far-right government of Bolivia are completely unacceptable, as they disregard the principles of respect, sovereignty, and cooperation that underpin the integration of the peoples of Our America and the founding values of the Alliance.
The ALBA countries have stood by the Bolivian people since their integration, contributing to historic achievements in education, health, and economic development: more than one million people have been taught to read and write through popular education programs; over three million Bolivian men and women have received care through MisiĂłn Milagro and other health initiatives; significant investments have been made in various sectors of the economy; and a prominent international presence has defended Bolivarian principles and Latin American unity. Thanks to this Alliance, the voice of the Bolivian people has resonated powerfully throughout Our America and the world.
We reaffirm our commitment to continue working alongside the Bolivian people, defending their rights, their social and economic development, and ensuring that the Alliance remains a space for solidarity, cooperation, and justice. This suspension will remain in effect while we evaluate the political conditions in Bolivia, with the aim of protecting ALBA’s founding principles and ensuring that the organization continues to serve as an instrument of unity, sovereignty, and social justice for all the peoples of Our America.

Venezuela repudiates attacks by new president of Bolivia
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil repudiated new Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz’s statements in which the latter had claimed that he is not interested in having diplomatic relations with Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua and that he seeks closer ties with Trump.
In a statement on Saturday, October 25, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said that Rodrigo Paz’s comments about ALBA-TCP is a demonstration of ignorance and, even worse, of contempt for the history and Bolivarian values that created the Republic of Bolivia.
Minister Gil noted in the statement that Paz represents the elites who want to turn Bolivia into a colony.
Below is the unofficial translation of the statement:
Mr. Rodrigo Paz’s message about ALBA-TCP is a demonstration of ignorance and, even worse, of contempt for the history and Bolivarian values that created the Republic of Bolivia. Speaking so lightly about what he does not know only confirms his disconnect from the people and his alignment with the interests of the elites who have always betrayed Bolivia.
You represent the elites who want to turn Bolivia into a colony, and you would not succeed. Do not try to deceive anyone; you represent the elites.
It is worth reminding you of something elementary: Bolivia was liberated and founded 200 years ago by SimĂłn BolĂvar and Antonio JosĂ© de Sucre, whose ideals remain alive in the struggle for the sovereignty of our peoples. While Our America honors that legacy, you trample it to please Washington. Your position is clearly anti-Bolivarian, anti-Latin American, pro-imperialist, and pro-colonial.
The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) does not need to explain itself to you; it speaks with concrete actions in favor of the Bolivian people:
That is real integration, based on brotherhood among peoples, not on the foreign submission that you now defend disguised as “openness to the world.”
Today, on the 200th anniversary of BolĂvar’s appearance in PotosĂ, your denialist discourse is an offense to Bolivia’s historical memory and to the struggle of the Aymara, Quechua, and GuaranĂ peoples, who never knelt before any empire.
From Venezuela, we say it clearly: ALBA is solidarity, sovereignty, and dignity. Always with the peoples; never with those who submit to the tutelage of the United States.
Yván Gil
Foreign Affairs Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
