The president of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services (Conviasa), Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported in the afternoon of this Saturday that the Directorate of Aeronautics of Ecuador granted the overflight permits to said airline for the return of the citizens of Venezuela who have suffered acts of xenophobia in Ecuadorian territory.
Through his account on Twitter, the official explained that this provision of the Ecuadorian authorities came after the intervention of Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza before the United Nations (UN), where he denounced the blockade of the Government of Ecuador to avoid the rescue of Venezuelans.
Recall that the Foreign Ministry of Ecuador reported that permits for the three flights this Saturday were authorized. However, the Directorate of Civil Aeronautics did not submit such authorization in writing. In total there will be 270 Venezuelans who will be repatriated today.
