US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reported Saturday a new “lethal kinetic strike” against a small boat allegedly linked to drug trafficking in the Caribbean, ordered by President Donald Trump.
On social media, the official stated that the “narco-trafficking vessel” was allegedly operated by a designated terrorist organization and that the attack took place in international waters. It is not clear in what part of the Caribbean the extrajudicial execution took place.
“This vessel—like every other—was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics,” he added while attaching a video that this time had the whole boat completely blurred, adding more opacity to the already alarming operation.

Hegseth confirmed that three people, whom he described as “narco-terrorists,” died during the attack.
“These narco-terrorists are bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans at home—and they will not succeed. The Department will treat them exactly how we treated al-Qaeda. We will continue to track them, map them, hunt them, and kill them,” the secretary added.
Under the guise of the war on drugs, the US regime has ordered an unprecedented military deployment in the Caribbean. Since last September it has attacked 20 small boats in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific, claiming they were linked to drug trafficking without presenting any evidence. According to international media, approximately 67 people have been killed during these executions.
The most recent attack occurred on October 29 in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico, leaving four dead. These actions were described by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, as unacceptable and clear violations of international law.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has repeatedly described Venezuela as the victim of a “multifaceted war” orchestrated by the United States, accusing Washington of inventing “a new, perpetual war” for regime change and the theft of Venezuela’s natural resources—primarily oil.
Reports from United Nations agencies have ruled out the production or trafficking of illegal substances destined for the United States in Venezuela. They have also specified that 87% of narcotics destined for the US transit via the Pacific route, primarily from Colombia and Ecuador, while 8% enter through the Colombian Guajira region. Similar conclusions are presented in the ‘European Drug Report 2025: Trends and Progress.’
