General Dilio RodrĂguez, head of the Capital Strategic Region for Comprehensive Defense (Redi), has announced that more than 28 territorial defense system drills have been carried out, with the participation of over 19,000 troops working alongside the popular power for the Bolivarian Shield 2025 Military Drills, which took place in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.
He explained this Thursday, January 23, that this merging is the manifestation of love for the homeland to defend the sovereignty of our territory, as defined in and required by Article 328 of the Constitution of Venezuela. This Article declares that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) establishes the guarantee of the independence and sovereignty of the nation and ensures the integrity of the territory, “through military defense, cooperation in maintaining internal order, and active participation in national development.”
“It has been proven that the people, the FANB, and the [public] security agencies comprise a defensive and impregnable system,” said General RodrĂguez, “that allows us to guarantee peace and tranquility and the sovereignty of everything we have received from the legacy of our General in Chief SimĂłn BolĂvar, our commander Hugo Chávez, and today from the hand of Commander in Chief Nicolás Maduro.”
The Commander of the Presidential Honor Guard, Javier Marcano Tábata, reported that the perfect civic-military-police union in the Bolivarian Shield 2025 Military Drills that are taking place in Caracas is an example of the “truth [of the power] of our collective organizations, of the mobilized fronts that our fighters have brought about together.”
“A fusion of joy […] is reflected in the morale of the Venezuelan people,” he noted, “where there is a will to fight because they know and understand that their peace and prosperity are being defended, as well as our right to exist as an independent, free, and sovereign nation, stronger than ever under the leadership of the Commander in Chief, Nicolás Maduro Moros.”
