On Wednesday, the Venezuelan Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace Diosdado Cabello reported that Wuileisys Alexander Acevedo Monasterios, known ass âWilexis,â was killed when he confronted officers of the Scientific and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC) and military units in the state of Miranda, Venezuela.
Cabello detailed how, in an operation on the Petare-Santa LucĂa highway, in the La Lagunita sector, an armed confrontation with state intelligence units broke out and Acevedo Monasterios was killed. âThe murders and extortions that this citizen carried out against the population of the Sucre municipality, Miranda state, are countless,â he added.
He also recalled the direct links that “Wilexis” had with the extreme right: “we must remember where and how the riots began in 2017 and the role he played in bringing violence to Petare, which has done so much harm to the Venezuelan people.”
Cabello further reported that constant monitoring is carried out of all criminal gangs that are terrorizing the population and trafficking in narcotics.

Firearms and a grenade with the seal of the Republic of Colombia were seized by Venezuelan authorities in the operation.
These details were offered by the director of the CICPC, Commissioner Douglas Rico, on his Instagram account, where he specified that they also found “a false identity card, with the name of Eddy Alexander Torres HernĂĄndez, which he used with the intention of evading the state security agencies.”
More than 15 charges for homicide, robbery, kidnapping, terrorism, and extortion were pending against the man who fell in a confrontation with security forces. These crimes were “committed against the inhabitants of the community of JosĂ© FĂ©lix Ribas, in Petare,” recalled Rico, who noted that the slain man led a criminal organization of more than 200 criminals that controlled drug trafficking in the Petare area of ââCaracas.
He also recalled that “Wilexis” ordered violence and acts of terrorism in Petare, in reference to his connection with the riots and other violent actions promoted by sectors of the extreme right in 2017, 2019, and 2020.
