On Sunday, Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda condemned an attack carried out against the Venezuelan embassy in La Paz. This unfortunate event adds to those that occurred at Venezuelan embassies in Oslo and Lisbon, as well as attacks against Venezuelan consulates in Vigo (Spain), Frankfurt (Germany), Medellin (Colombia), and San Jose (Costa Rica).
“They fired several shots with firearms that damaged some elements of the façade,” wrote the Bolivian minister in a public statement. “From the government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, we strongly repudiate these acts of vandalism that violate the rights and immunities of Venezuelan diplomat.” Local authorities are carrying out an investigation, she added.
Desde el Gobierno del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia repudiamos enérgicamente estos hechos vandálicos que vulneran los derechos e inmunidades de los diplomáticos venezolanos.

For his part, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yván Gil thanked Bolivia for the efforts made to resolve this unfortunate incident against the facility that houses Venezuelan diplomatic personnel. In a message on social media, FM Gil recognized the speed of the response to this incident.
“We appreciate the swift action of the government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, which has deployed an impeccable operation to find the fascist elements that have treacherously attacked our Embassy in La Paz,” FM Gil wrote in a public statement.
“The intolerance of the extreme right, frustrated and immersed in its own failures, has tried unsuccessfully to damage the facilities of the Bolivarian homeland, and they have failed again as they did here,” he added.
