On his official visit to Moscow, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War when the Red Army defeated Nazi Germany, the Venezuelan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, held a meeting on Thursday with Yuri Borisov, Russian vice prime minister and co-president of the Venezuela-Russia High Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN).

The meeting dealt with a series of issues inherent in the strategic cooperation alliance between the two countries, and fostered an exchange of views on the international context.
The parties evaluated the joint projects in different sectors, mainly energy and health, as a preamble to the XV meeting of the CIAN.

This Wednesday, after attending the military parade in Moscow celebrating the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, Foreign Minister Arreaza was received by his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in a meeting in which the Russian Foreign Minister ratified his country’s respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of Venezuela.
Foreign Minister Lavrov also confirmed his government’s support for the position of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, aimed at promoting a national dialogue in favor of peace in the South American nation.
For his part, Minister Arreaza thanked the sincere and useful support of the Russian Federation for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, not only bilaterally but also multilaterally.
