The vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that it is time to unite in the fight against fascism because if the fight is postponed, “then perhaps there will no longer be humanity.” Rodriguez made this comment on Thursday, January 9, at the opening ceremony of the International Anti-Fascist World Festival for a New World, to be held during January 9-11 at the Convention Center of La Carlota, Miranda state, Venezuela.
“Venezuela will be the tomb of fascism in Latin America, as we are strategically defeating it through the Bolivarian Revolution since Comandante Chávez was in the Presidency and today, with President Nicolás Maduro,” she said. “We will dig that grave here, so that fascism will never again dare to privatize the life of human beings in this continent.”
“I believe that this space, that originated from the World Anti-Fascist Congress in Caracas last September, must be broadened and deepened,” she continued, referring to the first Anti-Fascist Congress held last year in Caracas. “We recognize the work that the promoting teams have been doing, after the Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum was held in November, and then the Anti-Fascist Youth Forum. It is to weave the networks that these times call for, where fascism is threatening to take over our humanity and our planet.”
She also emphasized that there is no time to lose. “This is the hour for humanity to be united in the fight against fascism,” she stressed. “There is no more time, there is no tomorrow, because if we put it off, then perhaps there will no longer be humanity, people will no longer exist, there will only be the corporations that would have taken over the States and the lives of human beings.”
She highlighted that the World Anti-Fascist Congress was held not only thinking of Venezuela, but realizing “the serious challenges facing humanity today when fascism expands throughout Europe, when fascism and its Zionist expression is massacring the people of Palestine.”
“We said it in September… the neo-fascist network that is expanding in Europe is of great concern, we see it in Europe, in 17 countries, with 726 organizations, and we see how the map is turning fascist,” she warned.
She further highlighted that advances in the technological field have allowed fascism to spread exponentially, boosting neo-fascist expressions. “We have to understand it in order to know the challenges that artificial intelligence, social media, and the intentions of the owners of these digital platforms present today,” she said.
Fascism in the American continent
Vice President Rodríguez explained that each epoch has its own fascism based on the development of the capitalist model, and that the fascist network that is plaguing Europe today is also boosting its presence in the American continent.
She expressed support for the people of Argentina who “today are victims of a fascist in power, in the presidency.”
She also pointed out that in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, United States, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, and Venezuela “today there are movements, political parties with fascist, neo-fascist tendencies.”

Support for Palestine
The Venezuelan vice president expressed support for the Palestinian people suffering the ongoing genocide carried out by the Zionist entity and condemned all attempts to normalize it. “If anything characterizes these days is the intention to normalize what is aberrant, what is anti-human and what is abnormal, a genocide against the Palestinian people,” she said.
“How to normalize a massacre of such dimensions where they have murdered thousands of children, women, destroying the rights of the Palestinian people,” she questioned. “They want to make us consider it as something normal and then formalize what should never have been accepted, and that is why we have seen expressions of support for the Palestinian people in the entire planet, in all the countries.”
Rodriguez asserted that Venezuela will never tire of defending Palestine nor will it normalize the mass murder of human beings.
More than 2,000 delegates from 102 countries are attending the Anti-Fascist Festival, organized with the assistance of 77 promoting teams of the Anti-Fascist International.
