Three days after the runoff election in Ecuador, presidential candidate Luisa González of the Citizen Revolution movement has presented new evidence of irregularities in the vote count during the recent electoral process and denounce the results presented by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
In a video posted on social media this Thursday, April 17, Luisa González warned about multiple versions of vote tally sheets that were modified by the CNE after being uploaded to the system, altering not only the chain of custody but also the final results.
González reported they have so far identified 1,984 tally sheets lacking joint signatures from the authorities of the Polling Station Boards (JRV), which would violate Article 127 of the Democracy Code and should be invalidated.

González also noted there are 1,526 tally sheets where the total votes do not match the number of voters, which she argues should likewise be annulled by the CNE.
Additionally, she revealed they have 1,582 tally sheets whose results deviate from the average of their respective polling stations, suggesting possible unauthorized entries of additional tally sheets into those JRVs.
The Ecuadorian leader further reported an unusual decrease in blank votes, raising suspicions of direct manipulation of over 150,000 ballots.
González asserted that most polling station boards failed to comply with the protocol requiring the registration of voter numbers, and added that there was evidence of artificially reduced absenteeism; in other words, more votes than voters.
In the video she posted, she thanked her supporters for “a project built on the legitimate alliance of left and right” political forces.

She explained that the electoral campaign was “plagued with irregularities,” starting with President Daniel Noboa campaigning without taking leave to seek re-election, and blamed the Ecuadorian president for the “takeover of electoral institutions that illegally permitted the indiscriminate use of public resources for an open campaign by the government.”
González also criticized the distribution of “million-dollar bonuses without technical analysis as a populist strategy to buy votes, which now endangers dollarization,” and condemned the “last-minute changes to polling stations and states of exception.”
Finally, the Citizen Revolution leader announced that the new findings will be formally challenged before the relevant authorities, while lamenting that these institutions remain under the control of the current government.
