Chavismo and allied forces rallying around the re-election of President Nicolás Maduro for a third term are gearing up for the electoral process. On Sunday, July 14, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the coalition Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB), and other political and social movements in Venezuela launched a national deployment to review the mechanisms of the program 1x10x7 and Defense of the Vote for July 28.
The main event of the Third National Review Day of the 1x10x7 and Defense of the Vote program was held at the Poliedro stadium in Caracas. Several similar events were also held simultaneously throughout the country. The objective was to verify the installation of campaign posts, agitation and propaganda, organization of the Bolívar-Chávez Units (UBCH), community groups, witnesses and 1×10 program heads, and the reporting system. The house-to-house deployment to deliver the letters of recognition and commitment to all 1x10x7 voters was also launched last Sunday.

According to the vice president of organization for the PSUV, Pedro Infante, the 1x10x7 mechanism indicates that each Chavista party member would contact their neighbors so that they may know first-hand of candidate Nicolás Maduro’s proposals and exercise their right to vote.
The objectives set forth by the social and partisan organizations consist of “convincing with arguments, reasons, and truths all those who want to join us in favor of the Bolivarian Revolution.”
The 1x10x7 program was launched on June 9 when President Maduro announced the organization of a powerful, broad and superior political, social, cultural, and electoral machinery to guarantee victory in the presidential elections on July 28. “Everybody wants to have their 1×10, not only the PSUV. The party acts as the backbone and fundamental force. There are also several social forces, movements, and people not from the PSUV but whose organizations want to participate. From that comes seven because they are seven forces, seven powers for victory,” stated the Chavista presidential candidate on that occasion.
Last Sunday, President Maduro stated that the machinery for 2024 is the largest of all in 25 years of the Revolution. He added that during the week before, he visited 18 cities, participated in 23 events, and inaugurated 30 projects, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and schools, all made possible due to the work of the Military Community Brigades (Bricomiles).

He stressed that the tours around the country represent three fronts covered by his government: governing, fulfilling the campaign promises, and maintaining peace in Venezuela. Regarding this last item, he referred to the destabilization attempts detected since the beginning of this year, carried out by the far-right. He called for a broad antifascist national front to defeat those who intend to set the country on fire. This front which would even include opposition leaders who do not support the plans to reignite the guarimbas.
On Sunday, Vice President of the PSUV Diosdado Cabello detailed that over 350 meetings were held to hear the views of the campaign command. He also explained that in this campaign, the mechanisms for the ongoing electoral process were re-engineered. “There was already an old structure, and we decided to reorganize it from scratch,” he said. “We requested our militancy that the 1×10 be loaded with ethics, with truth, with the certainty that the comrade included in the list is aware that he or she is participating, which would allow us to take a real stock of the mobilization on election day.”
He stressed that the 1×10 mechanism incorporates Missions and Great Missions, social movements, the Patriotic Pole, communes, the Indigenous peoples’ movements, and other sectors of society that make up the Chavista forces. He added that today, Chavismo has a compact machinery that goes beyond the political parties and the GPPSB coalition.
Deputy Jorge Rodríguez said this methodology is a “true reflection of our people. It incorporates the true essence of the people.” Acknowledging Chavismo’s organizational capacity, seen in the electoral trial on June 30, presidential candidate Nicolás Maduro added that there is still much to be done. “There is still a lot to organize, the 1×10 of the communes. Let us get organized with creativity and emotion, with enthusiasm, with a great team,” he said at the event last Sunday.
