The US Department of State imposed unilateral coercive measures against Cuban President Miguel DĂaz-Canel and withdrew his visa.
According to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, this measure has also been applied to the minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, General Ălvaro LĂłpez Miera, and the Cuban minister of the Interior, LĂĄzaro Ălvarez Casas.
âThe State Department also added [the hotel] Torre K… to Cuba’s Restricted Places List,â Rubio said in a statement.

These measures are in line with the US policy towards Cuba as outlined by US President Donald Trump on June 30, 2025.
Subsequently, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno RodrĂguez condemned the measures issued by the US State Department against the Cuban president and his government officials.
âThe US is capable of imposing sanctions on the movement of revolutionary leaders and maintaining a prolonged and merciless economic war against Cuba, but it does not have the capacity to bend the will of the Cuban people or their leaders,â he wrote on social media.
