The Vente Venezuela political organization, led by opposition leader María Corina Machado, expelled the coordinator of that party in Falcón state, Edinson Oviedo, on Wednesday after being detained by the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) of the Bolivarian National Guard ( GNB) during an anti-drug operation.
Through a statement, they indicate that Oviedo was removed from office as a preventive measure and his political affiliation has been suspended, so disciplinary procedures will apply, after learning that he was captured in the CONAS operation.
Likewise, they specify that they will ensure the physical and mental integrity of Oviedo, as well as due legal assistance.
It was learned that Edinson Oviedo was apprehended with his son Edison José Oviedo Vargas, whom they associate with the sales of imported consumer products located in Puerta Maraven. The network of related companies includes a parcel service and a pallet factory.
Edinson Oviedo is the coordinator of this organization in Carirubana, a radical opposition group led by Maria Corina Machado; in addition he is a prominent writer on the website ventevenezuela.org . He is a civil engineer graduated from the University of Zulia and an active spokesman for the party in the local media, reports the investigative website La Tabla.
