Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated that Latin American and Caribbean unity is necessary to construct a confederation of countries and governments “as a block of strength” for the future of the region’s nations.
He emphasized this belief in a message on Friday, January 3, stressing the need for Latin America and the Caribbean to work together to face the challenges of the 21st century and build a prosperous future for the region.
President Maduro explained that currently, there is a “rearrangement of global forces, and this has its effect on the multilateral organization that we have, which is the United Nations.” According to him, the United Nations is experiencing a process of serious debilitation due to the power dispute.
