The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has reported that, once the debate sessions have been held, the final drafting phase of the Constitutional reform proposal, as resulted from the extended debate, must begin in about 60 days. This timeline is being established “in order to have the final proposal in 90 days that we will take with the people of Venezuela, our public made up of millions in the streets, to the National Assembly (AN), so that it can proceed as the Constitution mandates, to debate and decide.”
This Tuesday, February 25, at the end of a workshop with the National Commission for Constitutional Reform at Miraflores Palace, the head of state called for a creative, intelligent, and well-directed debate to establish the scope of the reform with great precision, in accordance with the powers they have as the Popular Constituent Power.
“We have reached a level of cultural, political, ideological, and doctrinal maturity,” he emphasized. “I firmly believe we have reached a higher level, due to the accumulation of struggles, victories, and experience, in the battle for the definitive rebirth of our country.”
The national leader stated that he trusts in the conscience, capacity, will, and commitment of the deputies of the Historical Block of the Fatherland at the AN. In due course, with an instructive and constructive debate, they will deliver the Constitutional Reform 2025 to the National Electoral Council (CNE), so that in 30 days the electoral body will proceed to call for referendum elections, “and it is you, men and women of the people, solely and exclusively, in a non-transferable manner, who say the last word.”
President Maduro said that this meeting has clear objectives and ideas, and reported that he has already received plans processed in the first phase of the workshop. “I received the report from the subcommittees of tables one, two, three, and four, in addition to all the considerations and proposals that we are working on in these major issues. The streets are saying it, the people are saying it, our enthusiasm and interest are growing.”

The Venezuelan leader also said that some zombies from the failed far-right opposition are showing their faces, emerging once again to lie, to pretend, to confuse, “but I fully and absolutely trust in the conscience of the people of Venezuela, so that we can make a comprehensive, unifying, and beautiful reform of which we can feel proud.” He added that these zombies are doing this even though there is not even a draft proposal yet, just to attempt to stir up lies and confusion in this critical time.
