Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro opened 22 health facilities in different regions of the country and reopened the revamped Brisas de Charallave Comprehensive Diagnostic Center in Miranda state.
Inaugurating these facilities on Thursday, December 19, President Maduro highlighted that all these centers have been renovated through the 1×10 Good Government Program and the Military Community Brigades (Bricomiles). “We will close this year with the opening of 120 renovated comprehensive healthcare centers,” he stated.
“If this had depended on the point of account, we would not be here,” he added, alluding to government programs that bypass bureaucratic hurdles.
“The key is the method, the supervision, the leadership, dedication,” he continued. “When one has these responsibilities, it is not to enjoy the position but to dedicate one’s life to the people. When a restored facility is handed over, what I think then is how to maintain it so that it does not deteriorate.”
During his tour of the Brisas de Charallave Comprehensive Diagnostic Center, alongside medical staff and various national government authorities, the president inspected the pharmacy, X-ray, gynecology and obstetrics, and ultrasound divisions, the minor surgery operating room, and medical services related to maternal health.
This center will benefit 40 communities and 120 communal councils in Charallave, Miranda state.
President Maduro also contacted the directors of Dr. Miguel Pérez Carreño Hospital and the University Clinical Hospital, where several specialized medical services were inaugurated.
“In the Dr. Miguel PĂ©rez Carreño National General Hospital in Caracas, we have renovated and reopened the Pediatric Emergency area,” said the president. Meanwhile, in the Clinical University Hospital, the urology service, the pacemaker unit, and the electrophysiology unit have been equipped with new equipment obtained through an agreement with China.
“Let us remain united so that Venezuela keeps growing,” he stated.

He also approved a budget item requested by Science and Technology Minister Gabriela JimĂ©nez and Health Minister Magaly GutiĂ©rrez for over $176 million. “Resources to kick off 2025 with a health program, a recovery,” he said.
“These resources, the country’s resources, are always directed towards the recovery process, to invest in health, education, housing, communes, community circuits, productive projects. For whom? For the development of our people, to empower our people,” he stated.
