President Nicolás Maduro held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, to strengthen relations of cooperation and brotherhood between both countries.
During the meeting held this Monday, July 15, they reviewed the agreements signed between Venezuela and Belarus in November 2023 and the cooperation route, which was described by the Venezuelan president as a new beginning for bilateral relations.
The authorities shared their vision for the future. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation in strategic sectors, especially in Venezuela’s Economic Zones. They also agreed to create areas for continued growth in the strategic alliance between both nations.
Venezuela and Belarus Sign Bilateral Agreements in Strategic Areas
At the meeting, the leaders also discussed the upcoming Venezuelan presidential elections scheduled for July 28, where a delegation from Belarus will participate as international observers.
Prime Minister’s agenda
Previously, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also had a working meeting with Prime Minister Golovchenko. The Venezuelan vice president of planning, Ricardo Menéndez, and the minister of foreign relations, Yván Gil, were present.
Earlier, the Belarusian delegation paid tribute to Liberator Simón Bolívar with a floral offering at his sarcophagus in the National Pantheon in Caracas.

“It was an honor to accompany the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, in laying a wreath in front of the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simón Bolívar as a symbolic gesture of friendship between our countries,” Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil wrote on social media.
The Belarusian delegation arrived in Venezuela on Sunday, where it was received by Minister Gil. The Foreign Ministry reported that the delegation has a work agenda that includes meetings with officials from the Executive and Legislative Branches.
Venezuela and Belarus maintain cooperation in various areas such as food, energy, education, air transport, trade, petrochemicals, and health, among others.
