Premier of São Tomé and Príncipe fulfils full agenda
Prime Minister Émery Trovoada had a busy agenda in the nation, which included a meeting on Wednesday with the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez. As planned, both nations will discuss agreements in sectors of higher education, hydrocarbons, and science and technology.
Upon his arrival in the country this Tuesday, Émery Trovoada was received with the honors corresponding to the head of the Sao Tome government at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state. Émery Trovoada earlier paid tribute to the Liberator Simón Bolívar during a wreath ceremony before the coffin that houses his mortal remains in the National Pantheon of Caracas.
Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and São Tomé were formalized in August 2006, thanks to the geostrategic vision of Commander Hugo Chávez, which has allowed the establishment of important links in the educational, scientific, and technological sectors, among others, while existing historical and cultural roots between both governments were reinforced.
