On the night of Saturday, October 25, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro arrived in Venezuela after traveling to Kazan, Russia, where he participated in the 16th BRICS Plus Summit, following an invitation from his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. President Maduro also traveled to Algeria, where he met with Prime Minister Mohamed Nadir Larbaoui.
The Venezuelan dignitary was received at Maiquetía Airport by Minister of Science and Technology Gabriela Jiménez, Minster of Electricity Jorge Márquez, Minister of Interior Affairs Diosdado Cabello, Minister of Education Héctor Rodríguez, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López, and the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) high command.
“There is no force on this earth that can silence the voice of rebellion and justice in Venezuela, neither today, tomorrow, nor ever. No one will veto or silence Venezuela, and anyone who tries to do so will dry up,” said President Maduro during his speech, referring to the Brazilian veto disallowing Venezuela from joining the BRICS.
He said that a successful agenda was fulfilled with the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, along with the countries’ support and admiration upon hearing the voice of Venezuela at this great international event. “It is always very exciting to arrive home because we also come from fulfilling a task impeccably: bringing the truth of Venezuela with its moral force, with its Bolivarian and revolutionary force to the world. The peoples of the world listen with happiness and admiration to the word that we carry on behalf of an entire people: the people of Venezuela,” he said.
The Venezuelan president added that he held several meetings with over 30 foreign government officials participating in the BRICS summit, framed in respect and admiration for Venezuela and its victory in the last elections.
“Extraordinary relations of respect, where all governments have confirmed their admiration for Venezuela and their congratulations for the great electoral victory of July 28, have confirmed their confidence in the destiny of this land that saw the birth of the giant Simón Bolívar and that had Hugo Chávez, whose name still resonates,” said President Maduro.
During his speech, the president reported that Venezuela is integrated into the new world order of the 21st century, with plans for a shared vision among the countries that comprise the BRICS. “We are connected to the new world, to the world of hope, to the world of the 21st century, profoundly connected, with plans for shared development with each country in the fields of energy, science, trade, technology, culture, education—integrated, politically and diplomatically, in a multicentered, multipolar world deeply rooted in the daily effort for peace,” he said.
