Qatar Airways has announced that it will start a new weekly flight between Doha and the SimĂłn BolĂvar International Airport of MaiquetĂa in Venezuela.
âThis flight will connect Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha with Bogota El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Colombia, and will then continue on to Caracas SimĂłn BolĂvar International Airport (CCS) in Venezuela,â Qatar Airways said in a press release.
This new service makes Qatar Airways the first and only airline to offer direct flights from West Asia to Colombia and the only West Asian airline to operate in Venezuela.
With the addition of Bogota and Caracas, Qatar Airways expands its network in the American continent to a total of 16 destinations, including major cities such as Dallas, Miami, New York, SĂŁo Paulo, and Toronto.
Operating Boeing 777-200LR aircraft equipped with 42 seats in business class and 234 seats in economy class, the new Bogota and Caracas services will provide travelers from the two South American cities with convenient access to the Middle East and Asia, thanks to Qatar Airways’ strong global network of more than 170 destinations.
âThe launch of flights to Bogota and Caracas marks a transformative moment for Qatar Airways and for travelers to South America. As the first airline to offer nonstop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern airline to fly to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures and trade,â noted the airline’s chief executive officer, engineer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.
