Social movements in Sweden rejected the interventionist statements of the self-styled Lima Group, in which they do not recognize Nicolás Maduro as the legitimate elected president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the period 2019-2025.
“We consider the declaration of the Lima Group shameful because it represents a flagrant crime of meddling and interfering in the internal affairs of the Venezuelan government and people,” reads part of the communiqué signed by representatives of several social movements.
The organizations denounced the attempts of the United States and its satellite countries, who “pretend in a sinister way to finance and promote a revolution of colors in Venezuela and Nicaragua, with unpredictable consequences for the peoples of the world.”
“We denounce the attempts of the empire and its servants to act against the Venezuelan government and people. We are certain that the plans of the United States and its lackeys will face a multitude of wills throughout the world in defense of the dignity, peace and sovereignty of the people,” adds the text published by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
On the other hand, they indicated that in spite of economic sanctions as well as attempted coup and assassination to generate anguish in Venezuela, the Venezuelan people has re-elected the head of state for his second presidential term.
Here the entire content of the communique and their signers:
We, the undersigned organizations and individuals, repudiate the disgraceful statement that as per US instructions has been made public by members of the Lima Group – governments obedient and submitted to the dictates of the empire.
After destroying social peace in the Middle East and Ukraine, the United States is now attempting to finance and promote colour revolutions in Venezuela and Nicaragua, with unpredictable consequences for the peoples of the world.
We should bear in mind that, despite economic sanctions, coup and assassination attempts, interference in the territorial conflict between Venezuela and Guyana, constant attacks from Colombia (political, economic and military base of the Empire), financed hitmen in the streets of Venezuela in order to create anxiety and intimidation of the population, etc., the Venezuelan people have re-elected current President Nicolás Maduro for a new term (2019-2025).
We consider the declaration of the Lima Group to be shameful, since it represents a flagrant crime of interference in the internal affairs of the Venezuelan government and its people.
The vast majority of world governments have expressed their support and recognition of the new mandate of President Nicolás Maduro.
The strategy of the United States and their Latin American puppets must be exposed. We condemn the attempts of the empire and its servants to interfere against the Venezuelan government and people.
We are convinced that the plans of the United States and their lackeys will face fierce resistance around the world – in defense of the dignity, peace and sovereignty of the peoples.
