Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—The US military has carried out two more lethal strikes in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific this week, executing five civilians and bringing its total number of extrajudicial killings in the region to 69.
On Thursday, November 6, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced a deadly attack on a small boat in the Caribbean that resulted in three deaths. This follows his announcement on Wednesday, November 5, of another strike that killed two individuals.

“Today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization,” Hegseth wrote on social media. He used the same template to confess to these crimes in both reports.
According to Hegseth, the small boat “was trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean and was struck in international waters.” He stated that no members of the US forces were injured in the attack. Three male civilians were assassinated in Thursday’s strike, and two were killed in Wednesday’s.
“As we’ve said before, vessel strikes on narco-terrorists will continue until their the poisoning of the American people stops.… To all narco-terrorists who threaten our homeland: if you want to stay alive, stop trafficking drugs. If you keep trafficking deadly drugs—we will kill you,” the official warned.
Wednesday’s strike was conducted in the Eastern Pacific, while Thursday’s was in the Caribbean Sea. The US government did not provide further information about which countries’ coasts the strikes occurred off.
As with the most recent videos of the extrajudicial killings released by the US government, the images from both strikes were blurry, obscuring those aboard and the load of the targeted boats.
The controversial military operation has been condemned by Pope Leo and labeled as inadmissible extrajudicial killing by the United Nations. It has also caused a rise in regional tensions that forced the postponement, for the first time, of the Summit of the Americas. The summit was scheduled for the first week of December in the Dominican Republic.
The latest strikes are the 16th and 17th since the unprecedented US military killing operation began on September 2. So far, 69 civilians have been executed. Only three survivors have been reported, most of whom were later released in Ecuador and Colombia due to a lack of evidence and no proven connections to criminal organizations.
