The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has called the countries that make up the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), to an extraordinary Summit, to be held next Monday, February 3.
The head of state announced this Thursday, January 30, that at this special meeting, the agenda for the rest of 2025 will be discussed, and the political situation regarding the attacks of international imperialism on the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean will be evaluated.
Last Sunday, the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, called for a special summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in response to the tension generated in the region by the increase in dehumanizing deportation flights of the US imperial government. On Tuesday, the Honduran government announced that the meeting was suspended until further notice, due to the lack of consensus among member countries.
During a working meeting held at the Fabricio Ojeda Endogenous Development Center, located in the Gramoven sector of Caracas, President Maduro stated that coups d’état in Latin America have always been carried out “by the pro-US oligarchy and the United States of America.”
According to analysts, this ALBA-TCP summit may be able to serve as the place where anti-imperialist countries can form a united front to address all the challenges that the aggressiveness of the new administration of the US empire is inflicting on Latin American and Caribbean countries.
“No one will ever be able to silence the truth about Venezuela,” President Maduro said. “We have been persecuted, censored, and banned, but even so, we are growing, and will continue to build our path to victory.”
The Venezuelan leader emphasized that the people of Venezuela will continue to forge their own history, because they are in a time of social transformation, and revolutionary struggle has focused on the political independence of the nation.
President Maduro further detailed the development of the Venezuelan people with their own leadership, rooted in culture and awareness of all the historical processes that have been experienced for the construction of a historical conscience, challenging the existence of a fascist far-right that wants to revive the worst of history.
In this regard, the head of state said that until the end of time the people of Venezuela will continue to be Bolivarian, Zamorano, and more than ever Chavista. “There is only one Bolívar and one Manuela Sáenz for the historical conscience of the people,” he added, “because they were formed and forged in the streets of Caracas.”
Finally, he took the opportunity to recall that in December 1998, the new Bolivarianism was born, following the election of Commander Hugo Chávez as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who will always be honored as the supreme leader of the Bolivarian Revolution and of the new history.
