This Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro delivered the first ton of gold extracted and processed by mining workers from Bolivar state to the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV)
“I am very pleased to be able to deliver to the Central Bank of Venezuela and announce that Venezuela is now producing, in compliance with the strictest international standards, gold ingots for its national and international reserves, for its development with its own gold,” the head of state announced during a televised working meeting with mining sector actors.
President Maduro added that Venezuela intends to continue producing gold and, therefore, called on gold investors, especially artisanal miners, to extract it under “strict ecological and preservation measures.”
He also highlighted the efforts of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) to defend protected areas of national parks, rivers, lakes, and the Orinoco and CaronĂ basins and instructed Vice President Delcy RodrĂguez to redouble efforts to “move in the right direction.”
“This was a goal we had for some time: to produce our own gold reserves,” President Maduro said. “We’ve already taken the necessary measures and steps,” he said. The president added that the other 13 productive engines of the Venezuelan economy are performing very well.
New Developments Regarding Venezuela’s Gold Stolen by Bank of England
“We have found the path; nothing and no one will derail us from a self-sustaining economy on the path to self-development,” he mentioned.
In this regard, he referred to the difficulties and “dirty plans” hatched by the country’s fascist far right, as well as the “imperial announcements,” which, he said, encourage people to work harder and confirm “that we are on the path to absolute independence for our economy, on the path of justice, dignity, and honor.”
