The minister of Defense of Venezuela, Vladimir Padrino López, said that the military revolution is marking a milestone in its unity with the people of the country.
During the launch of the deployment of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) in the 5,336 communal circuits across the national territory as part of “The barracks go to the people” Plan on Saturday, September 20 in response to US invasion threats, he highlighted that former President Hugo Chávez had completely turned around the military doctrine of the country and began the civic-military union.
The minister stressed that this union “has now evolved into a people-military-police union, a great fortress that we have built in revolution.”
“Today is a milestone that we are marking in the military revolution that we are all building together, people and armed forces alike. It is a true military revolution,” he said.
“We are doing this because our homeland is at the center and deserves our attention, affection, love, and everything that we can do to defend every inch of it. In unity we will prevail,” he said.
The minister added that the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has instructed the armed forces to go to the rural areas, to towns, to the communal circuits, where the communal militia units are being formed and strengthened with the new enlistment drives of the Bolivarian National Militia.
“We are building it, reorganizing the entire organic structure of the Bolivarian Militia,” he stated. “We are writing all this with our own hands, shaping it with our own thoughts, our own minds, our own experience, and our own national spirit.”

Unity as true strength
Padrino López pointed out that the country is under constant attack from US imperialism, “but we have not let ourselves be defeated. They want to wipe us out and return us to slavery.”
He emphasized that “going back to being slaves” will not happen in Venezuela, highlighting the history of the Venezuelan people’s will to fight for independence and freedom. He added that true strength lies in unity, which is not measured solely by cannons, but by the combative will of the people to overcome obstacles through patriotic and political consciousness.
“We do not want the gringos to come here and enslave us,” he asserted.
The minister asserted that Venezuela will continue advancing in the defense of its sovereignty and independence, on the path of victory, prosperity, joy, and solidarity.
President Nicolás Maduro also praised the military deployment, calling it a “profound union of the soul of our FANB and our organized, empowered people” during his participation in the Founding Congress of the Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Union, in the state of Aragua. He asserted that the people remain united in the face of threats from the US empire.
“The US empire threatens the homeland of Simón Bolívar, and the homeland of Simón Bolívar responds: we are more united than ever to safeguard our right to sovereignty, peace, and the right to life and work for the people of Venezuela,” he said. “The people of Venezuela say to the empire: enough of your threats… The empire fears us because we are not afraid. It has never been able to defeat us and will never be able to. If there is one thing that we Venezuelans are, we are tough in the face of any difficulty. If we are threatened, we get even tougher.”
