The first meeting of the Special Commission was held on Tuesday, January 14, where Rodríguez stated that the meeting was a clear message to those who want to participate in the upcoming elections.
He added that the meeting helped broaden democracy, where interesting proposals for the electoral schedule were made. The proposals will be taken to the National Electoral Council (CNE), “which is the only entity that can call elections and make electoral schedules.”
Rodríguez thanked the representatives of various organizations for their participation “because it shows that they are working in accordance with the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela” and called on Venezuelans and their political representatives to preserve peace as one of the country’s most precious assets.
The Special Commission for the revision of electoral laws is in charge of preparing the electoral schedule for the elections of governors, mayors, municipal councils, legislative councils, and the National Assembly for 2025. Subsequently, it will be submitted to the CNE.
