The Venezuelan far-right political party Justice First (PJ) approved a resolution agreeing not to support any “government in exile.” This was revealed to Globovisión television station by internal sources of the political organization.
PJ members signed a document in which they ratified their decision not to support a “government in exile” despite pressure from a wing of the party.
They also said that they would not support additional sanctions against Venezuela, given that they threaten Venezuela’s stability.
“Yesterday, we defeated them. We approved a document stating that we will not support any government in exile and are against sanctions against the country,” the sources said.
The signing of this document makes the internal divisions within the political organization more evident, given that they are ignoring the declaration from one of the party leaders, fugitive Julio Borges, who called to defend the alleged electoral victory of Edmundo González.
The infighting within PJ increased after the presidential elections when the former governor of Miranda state, Henrique Capriles, resigned from the party’s national leadership after condemning foul play on the part of Julio Borges.
Following Capriles’ accusations, other PJ members have revealed the divisions and conflicts within the organization.
Such is the case of Juan Requesens, who reported that strange things began to happen in PJ in recent years, such as leaks to journalists with the intention of publicly disqualifying party colleagues.

Requesens said that during Edmundo González’s campaign, the PJ president, María Beatriz Martínez, created a scandal around him for attending and recording videos later published on social media.
He recalled that Martínez sabotaged and suspended an event in Petare where Edmundo González was going to participate. This event generated much annoyance and frustration. As a result, they ended up working individually to seek votes for the former presidential candidate.
In addition, the political leader said that “some colleagues” took advantage of their influence on social media to “discredit” other activists because they have different opinions. This report is similar to what Capriles condemned in his resignation letter, in which he accused Borges of prioritizing “his personal interests” and paying on social media “to attack and discredit” opponents.
