The governments of Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana are lending themselves to the United States’ plans against Venezuela, placing themselves at the service of imperialist plans against Latin America and the Caribbean. The complaint was made on Thursday, September 11, by Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez from Cumaná, Sucre state, where she led the activation of “Independence Plan 200: Active Resistance and Permanent Offensive.”
“From here, from Sucre state, a very clear message to the vassal governments of the United States War Department, the government of Trinidad and Tobago, and the government of Guyana: Take it easy, do not dare, and do not even think about it. You are lending yourselves to the evil plans of aggression against the people of Bolívar, and you are also lending yourselves to destabilizing the entire Caribbean and this continent,” she said in a television broadcast with President Nicolás Maduro, who led the national activation of Independence Plan 200 from La Guaira state.
34 points activated in Eastern Venezuela
Rodríguez oversaw the actions of the “Independence Plan 200: Active Resistance and Permanent Offensive” in Sucre, Nueva Esparta and Delta Amacuro. These regions comprise 34 strategic points activated to ensure the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the regions and the nation amid US military threats.
She told President Maduro that she reviewed the plan’s activation. She was supported by the people of Cumaná, the regional police, the Bolivarian National Armed Force, the Bolivarian National Militia, and the entire Civil Protection system. “This is the union and fusion of the police, the military, and the people.”
From Cumaná, the birthplace of Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, she emphasized that “just as you have given the order, we must protect our coasts, protect our main roads, activate all production processes in strategic areas with the Combatant Corps and protect the Caribbean Sea; but also protect the sea on our Atlantic coast, which is a strategic location for us in the supreme defense of our Essequibo territory.”
“The Venezuelan people are energized by peace, the Venezuelan people are ready for territorial integrity, the Venezuelan people are ready to defend our heroic struggle for independence,” she added.
President Maduro: Let the world hear it, Venezuela wants peace
After Vice President Rodríguez’s remarks, President Maduro stated: “Let the world hear this, let the entire planet hear this: Venezuela wants peace, peace with national independence, with national dignity, peace with republican freedom, peace with its right to develop its own model. Peace with Bolívar, Zamora, Guaicaipuro.”
“We do not want the Roman peace, the imperial peace, the colonial peace, the peace of cemeteries, the peace of slaves. The era of the colony and slavery is long gone, and we have hard-won today’s peace against every conspiracy. There has always been a response and a victory. We will consolidate today’s hard-won peace in perfect national unity,” he added.
The Venezuelan president celebrated the patriotic fervor of the vast majority of Venezuelans who reject US imperial threats. “With serenity, courage and firmness, with something the Venezuelan people inherited from the liberators: an unshakeable faith in victory because victory belongs to us, the victory of independence, freedom and peace.”
