Venezuela Working on International Alliances for Production of DR10 Molecule to Fight COVID-19
Venezuela evaluates making alliances with other nations for the production of the Venezuelan molecule DR10, recently presented to the World Health Organization (WHO) for certification, he President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro announced this Wednesday, during a virtual conference with international media from the Miraflores Palace.
“It is a great finding, it is great news from Venezuela to the world… Once we have the approval of the World Health Organization, we’ll seek to make alliances with Russia, China, India and Cuba to produce this medicine for our country and the world,” he specified.
“This DR10 molecule comes from a plant, is extracted and administered in the form of a syrup, which makes it possible to nullify the effects of COVID-19,” he explained.

He explained that this molecule is totally natural, and has passed the first phase of trials; “It has the scientific name of DR10, it must first comply with all the tests and protocols of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and then enter the stage of mass production, and at that stage it will already have a commercial name. We are taking steps to report the process, carried out with scientific rigor,” Maduro described.
President Maduro recalled that last Sunday the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) certified studies on the DR10 molecule. This molecule produces the total elimination of COVID-19 without generating toxicity that affects healthy molecules in the body or generates collateral effects, he said. He invited the Venezuelan minister of science and technology to offer detailed information about the scientific achievement, and he also say that IVIC is working on presenting a scientific paper in a prestigious international scientific magazine.
“The study lasted six months, and the molecule has previously been used against hepatitis C, human papillomavirus (HPV), Ebola and other diseases,” he said.
Medicines for everyone
“Venezuela expresses its interest in continuing to buy all effective medicines, of the whole world, to deliver it free of charge to the people of Venezuela,” he said.
Maduro stressed that the government intends to continue acquiring drugs in the foreign market to combat COVID-19. “We are in talks with the Russian and Chinese governments to be able to buy vaccines in the first quarter of 2021 and supply them free of charge to our entire population,” he said.
Reopening 7+7
President Nicolás Maduro took the opportunity to explain how Venezuela is applying the optimal 7 + 7 reopening scheme. “The 7 + 7 method allows voluntary and peaceful protection of the population, fewer people going out on the street,” but without curfews or repressive measures, appealing to the conscience of all Venezuelans.
“People cannot lose respect for a disease as contagious and devastating as the coronavirus. We have taken care of each other, like a single family. Venezuela has confronted criminal sanctions in order to move forward together and be able to guarantee our people health, education, food, work and all their rights, ”he declared.
The president announced that for the month of December there will be special measures of controlled and safe reopening. “You have seen how we have faced the coronavirus, in an exemplary way because we Venezuelans are united,” he said.
