Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro discussed the importance of empowering young Venezuelans, announcing that a Popular Consultation for Youth will be held on July 27. This initiative strengthens democratic participation and community organization in the construction of a plurinational and socialist state.
A democratic act to strengthen the popular struggle
“On July 27, just hours before celebrating [one year of] the great [electoral] victory of July 28 in the streets of Venezuela and around the world, we will hold a youth consultation, a democratic event that will allow our young people to lead community projects and contribute to social transformation,” said President Maduro on Saturday, May 17, during a televised meeting from La Guaira state.
The new generation of popular leadership
The Venezuelan president stated that this consultation will be an opportunity for new generations to promote initiatives that strengthen the popular economy, organized communities, and the country’s sovereignty. He also emphasized the importance of active youth participation in the recovery and construction of the revolutionary project.

Finally, he instructed the minister of Communes, Ángel Prado, to activate all necessary mechanisms for young people to present and develop their projects within the framework of this popular consultation, in line with the construction of popular power and self-determination.
