Venezuelan far-right politician Henry Ramos Allup urged the opposition to leave behind the chapter of the now-defunct National Assembly of 2015, which has had no mandate since January 2021 but is illegally extended by US-led destabilizing interests.
Ramos Allup made this statement in a message published on social media, in which he agreed with the opinion of the general secretary of Un Nuevo Tiempo party, Ángelo Palmieri, who urged a few days ago to “end” the phase of the 2015 National Assembly.
“Certainly Ángelo Palmieri. The 2015 National Assembly was elected on December 6, 2015. Its term began on January 5, 2016, and ended on January 5, 202. Despite all the harassment, it fulfilled its duties in the best possible way,” wrote the former president of that National Assembly.
Ciertamente @angelopalmerib UNT.

Ángelo Palmieri said in an interview with AlNavío that his party believes that the 2015 National Assembly fulfilled its role, and there is no longer any justification for it to continue in office. “The country demands us to fulfill our responsibility and speak with clarity and a view to the future,” he said.
On December 23, the National Assembly decided to submit a request to the Attorney General of the Republic to apply the Liberator Simón Bolívar Law Against the Imperialist Blockade against the former deputies of the defunct 2015 National Assembly.
Venezuela’s National Assembly Requests Application of Bolívar Law Against Former Deputies
The president of the National Assembly, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, presented a letter sent by opposition leaders associated with the defunct 2015 National Assembly to the US Chargé d’Affaires in Colombia and US Chief of Mission for Venezuela Francisco Palmieri, asking for resources for their “functions.”
“What these shameless people are doing is looking for a way for their master, Palmieri, to approve the money that does not belong to them but to the people of Venezuela,” Rodríguez stressed, referring to the Venezuelan foreign assets seized by the US Treasury.
The request for an investigation under the Liberator Simón Bolívar Law Against the Imperialist Blockade was made against the opposition politicians Dinora Figuera, Marianela Fernández, and Auristela Vásquez, who call themselves president, first vice president, and second vice president, respectively, of the non-existent 2015 National Assembly.
The current constitutionally elected National Assembly has requested the application of the Liberator Simón Bolívar Law Against the Imperialist Blockade, political disqualification, expropriation of assets, and legal actions against the aforementioned individuals.
