Venezuelan minister for Internal Relations, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported that the three officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) who harassed a French tourist and a Mexican tourist in Barquisimeto for the discovery of a drone in their luggage, have already been arrested.
The three PNB officials, José María Vargas Vásquez, Inderson José Chirinos, and Enderson José Mena Leal, have been placed at the disposition of the judiciary.
“The incident came out social media, and I instructed the chief of the Bolivarian National Police to immediately launch an investigation. We identified the policemen who participated in this,” the minister specified on Wednesday, February 12, during the broadcast of his television program Con el Mazo Dando, celebrating its 11th anniversary.
Cabello emphasized that in the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), “whoever dishonors the uniform, is dismissed with a half-turn,” adding that half turn means that “everyone turns their back on them and they have to leave for having dishonored the Bolivarian National Police.”

Cabello, addressing the students of the National Experimental University for Security (UNES) who were present at the program, stated, “I will defend you as far as I have to defend you, but whoever extorts the people will be thrown out, no matter what his or her name is.”
“It does not matter how long one has been in the police force. No officer should dishonor the uniform of the Bolivarian National Police. Not a single one,” he stressed.
He added that those who engage in extortion and harassment “shows Venezuela in a bad light in front of the world. All the weight of the law will fall on them, they will be expelled and taken to court so that they may be judged for the crime they committed. It is justice.”
“We do not take away opportunities from anyone, but if you break the rules, we cannot support you,” he said.
