As part of the measures that the Venezuelan government continues to implement to combat the impact of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US and its allies, President Nicolás Maduro announced a plan for effective and direct access to medicine throughout Venezuela through the Patria Card (national identity card).
During his visit to the state of Carabobo on Thursday, July 11, President Maduro announced that this new modality to access medicine and medical treatment will go hand-in-hand with the 0800 Súper Bigote program.

The 0800 Súper Bigote program was developed by the Governor of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, for all the state’s communities, considering the difficulties they face in accessing medicines due to sanctions against Venezuela. It is a medical assistance program that provides house-to-house care, emergency transfers, and assistance in road accidents and other emergencies.
Highlighting the importance of this program, President Maduro emphasized that the idea is “to expand the 0800 Súper Bigote program to the whole country as part of a superior health technology project. What is good must be multiplied.”
This initiative seeks to take advantage of the data included in the Patria Card to distribute medicine more efficiently and directly to the people throughout the country.
